London in the Summer! 🙂
Eagle Colleen, enjoying mindful meditation with the elements of nature in Battersea Park….
Meditation can be approached in many different forms, through walking in nature, sitting, dancing, being creative, singing, martial arts, tai chi. Meditation can begin simply, by focusing on the breath and thus bringing about a focused, clear mind. Finding a quiet place in nature, either seated or walking and being ‘presently aware’ or ‘mindful’ of your natural surroundings, the sounds, the elements of nature, brings you back to the present moment.
Taking deep, belly breaths (inhale pushing the belly out as filling a balloon with air and exhale, as if pushing air out of a balloon) assists us, to become more balanced, calmer and peaceful. In process assisting in connecting to your ‘inner chi’ or know as your ‘inner life force’.
Enjoy the mindful practise of meditation, begin with 10 minutes per day with the belly breathing and add a few minutes each day until you are comfortable with 30 min to 60 min per day 🙂
